USA based musician Jim Goodin and Swedish musician Peter Thörn met through blind chance in 2008 after finding each other through a forum on fretless guitar. The pair began working together doing improvisational music through utilizing the popular audio software NinJam.
From Brooklyn To Glindran produced from six online sessions between fall 2009 and winter 2010 as well as some exchanged audio files, represents textures and influences from World to Blues to Experimental with Thörn performing on saxophone, flute, ancient traditional nyckelharpa, percussion and Goodin on fretless guitar, oud and violin.
Beyond the music, both musicians share a connection with diabetes. Thörn has type 1 diabetes as does Goodin's daughter Callie. The project release date April 6 2010 marks the anniversary that Goodin's daughter was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, now five years ago. Proceeds from the sale of this electronic album or physical CD will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
'From Brooklyn To Glindran' is in honor of Callie and Peter in the spirit of hope that a cure for type 1 diabetes will come to fruition in their lifetimes.
